Why farms use solar 4G cameras
Most farm theft happens at night and far from the house: cattle and goats driven out through a gate, a borehole pump unbolted, fuel siphoned, produce taken at harvest. Wired CCTV needs a cable run and steady power, and Wi-Fi cameras need a router within range. On a plot several kilometres from the grid, neither is practical.
A solar 4G camera removes both needs. It sits on a pole near the gate or the pump, charges during the day, and wakes when its motion sensor or human detection sees someone. Your phone gets an alert within seconds, you can watch live and speak through the camera, and the clip is saved to the card inside it. A siren and lights can be set to go off at the same time.
The things that go wrong are predictable, and we design around them: the wrong 4G bands for the country, a panel too small for the rainy season, an app that stops working, and data bills higher than expected. Read the SIM card and data guide before you buy, and see how we lay out a solar camera for a farm or protect animals against livestock theft.
